PRP hair treatment in Zurich

Natural regeneration for full, strong hair

For many people, thick, healthy hair is a symbol of youthfulness, vitality and self-confidence. However, when hair becomes thinner, receding hairlines become more pronounced or overall hair density decreases, this is often perceived as stressful. At The Eram Clinic, we offer PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment, a highly effective regenerative therapy based on the power of your own blood. This biological method uses highly concentrated growth factors to revitalise hair roots, stop hair loss and stimulate natural hair growth in the long term. Experience a treatment that combines medical innovation with the desire for naturalness.

The biology of self-healing: How PRP activates hair growth

PRP therapy, also known as ‘vampire facelift’ for the skin, is a scientifically proven regenerative medicine procedure. The abbreviation PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, which is obtained from a small amount of your own blood. This plasma contains blood platelets (thrombocytes) in a concentration that is well above normal levels. These platelets are real powerhouses: after injection, they release a variety of growth factors and proteins that promote cell renewal and significantly improve blood circulation in the scalp.

As soon as the PRP is injected directly into the hair roots, a regenerative process begins in the hair follicles. The growth factors stimulate the stem cells of the hair root and prolong the active growth phase of the hair. At the same time, the blood vessels around the follicle are strengthened, which guarantees a better supply of nutrients. At The Eram Clinic, we use this procedure with particular success in cases of early, diffuse hair loss or hormone-related thinning. The aim is to ‘reawaken’ inactive hair roots and noticeably strengthen the structure of existing hair, so that the overall appearance of the hair appears fuller and more vital.

Precision and quality: The procedure at The Eram Clinic

Successful PRP treatment requires the utmost care in the extraction and preparation of the plasma. At our clinic in Zurich, we use certified specialised systems to separate the valuable, platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood in a centrifugation process. This is the only way we can guarantee the maximum concentration of growth factors, which is crucial for therapeutic success. The subsequent injection is performed with the finest needles directly into the affected areas of the scalp.

As this is an autologous procedure – i.e. only the body's own material is used – allergic reactions or intolerances are ruled out. This makes PRP therapy one of the safest methods in aesthetic hair medicine. We usually recommend a course of several sessions, as the regeneration of hair roots is a biological process that takes time. With each session, the scalp environment improves, which forms the basis for long-term stable and aesthetically pleasing hair results.

Why PRP is an excellent choice for hair loss

Opting for PRP treatment is a decision in favour of a natural and sustainable solution. Unlike chemical hair growth products or surgical procedures, PRP relies on the body's own resources. The therapy is equally suitable for men and women. PRP is also particularly effective as a supportive measure after a hair transplant: the growth factors help the newly implanted grafts to grow faster and promote healing of the donor area. As there is no downtime, the treatment can be discreetly integrated into everyday life and offers a highly efficient way of preventively protecting and actively promoting hair health.

Holistic support: synergies for your charisma

At The Eram Clinic, we view your appearance as a harmonious whole. PRP hair treatment can be combined wonderfully with other aesthetic measures to increase your well-being. While we focus on revitalising your hair, professional dental hygiene can ensure a radiant smile that completes your well-groomed appearance. Combining this with micronutrient consultations can also be beneficial in order to provide optimal support for the hair follicles from the inside and outside.

Aftercare following a PRP session is very simple. We only recommend that you refrain from washing your hair for about 24 hours and avoid intense heat from saunas or direct sunlight for two to three days. As the hair roots need time to respond to the growth factors, the first improvements in hair structure are usually visible after the second or third session. Our specialists will accompany you throughout the entire course of treatment and adjust the treatment intervals individually to your progress in order to achieve a result that will delight you every day when you look in the mirror.

Frequently asked questions about PRP treatment for hair

PRP achieves the best results in cases of hereditary hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) or diffuse hair loss, as long as the hair roots are still intact. If the follicles are already completely dead, even PRP cannot stimulate new hair growth. It is therefore crucial to start treatment at an early stage.

Hair growth is a slow process. Most patients notice a significant reduction in hair loss after the second session. After about three to six months, the hair becomes increasingly stronger and its density visibly increases.

Since PRP is obtained from your own blood, it is extremely well tolerated. Immediately after the injection, slight redness or a feeling of pressure on the scalp may occur, but this usually subsides within a few hours.

We recommend that you refrain from strenuous exercise on the day of treatment so as not to irritate the small puncture sites. You can resume your usual training routine the following day.

In the early stages of hair loss, PRP can be an excellent alternative to delay or avoid the need for surgery. For large areas of baldness, a transplant is often the only solution, with PRP serving as an ideal ‘growth accelerator’ after the procedure.
