Fixed braces in Zurich

Precision and aesthetics for perfect tooth alignment

Correcting misaligned teeth is an essential step towards lasting oral health and a harmonious facial appearance. While modern aligner systems now cover many areas, fixed braces remain the instrument of choice when it comes to maximum precision and the correction of complex misalignments. At The Eram Clinic, we are redefining the classic multiband appliance. We combine proven orthodontic principles with state-of-the-art, discreet materials and digital planning. Our goal is to guide your teeth into the ideal position with the utmost precision to create both perfect function and an aesthetically flawless smile.

Why fixed braces are often superior

Fixed braces, often referred to as bracket systems, enable three-dimensional control over each individual tooth. The fixed connection between the brackets and the highly elastic archwire allows us to apply continuous and precisely measured forces. This is particularly important for complex tooth movements, such as correcting rotations, moving teeth vertically or aligning displaced canines. At The Eram Clinic, we use this method to systematically correct malocclusions and achieve stable dentition that relieves pressure on the temporomandibular joint in the long term.

An essential aspect of our philosophy in Zurich is the combination of efficiency and comfort. Modern bracket systems are significantly smaller and flatter than in the past, which shortens the adjustment period and minimises the risk of irritation to the oral mucosa. We use digitally programmed arches that exert biologically compatible forces, thus shortening the overall treatment time. The fixed braces work for you 24 hours a day without requiring any active cooperation on your part, making them an extremely reliable method for comprehensive dental rehabilitation.

Aesthetic solutions: ceramic brackets and discreet design

Many of our adult and adolescent patients want a correction that is barely noticeable in everyday life. At The Eram Clinic, we therefore offer highly effective, aesthetic alternatives to classic metal brackets. Brackets made of crystal-clear sapphire ceramic are particularly popular. These are almost transparent and do not discolour over the entire duration of treatment. In combination with tooth-coloured coated arches, the fixed braces blend in with the natural tooth substance and thus remain extremely discreet.

In addition to appearance, hygiene is also a priority. At our clinic in Zurich, we will advise you in detail on how to best care for your fixed braces. Through the precise placement of the brackets and the use of modern adhesive systems, we protect your enamel throughout the entire wearing period. Fixed braces at The Eram Clinic are not a compromise in terms of appearance, but a conscious decision in favour of a technologically advanced system that does not compromise on treatment quality.

Holistic preservation: prophylaxis and lasting stability

Fixed braces require increased attention to oral hygiene. At The Eram Clinic, we support you with our specialised professional dental hygiene programme. During orthodontic treatment, our experts clean the areas around the brackets and under the arches particularly thoroughly to minimise the risk of inflammation or discolouration. Healthy gums are essential for rapid and successful tooth movement.

Once the fixed braces have been removed and your teeth are in the perfect position, the retention phase is crucial. To ensure that the result remains stable for life, at The Eram Clinic we use discreet, fixed retainers on the inside of the teeth. At the same time, the new aesthetics can be ideally crowned with teeth whitening to make your now perfectly aligned teeth shine. At our modern premises in Zurich, we accompany you from the initial analysis to the permanent preservation of your new look.

Frequently asked questions about fixed braces

No, sticking the brackets onto the surface of your teeth is completely painless. In the first few days after insertion or after adjusting the archwire, you may experience a feeling of pressure as your teeth get used to the movement. This usually subsides after a short time.

In principle, yes, but you should avoid extremely hard or sticky foods, as these could loosen the brackets or bend the archwire. At the start of treatment, we will give you a list of helpful tips for everyday life.

Aligners are ideal for many types of correction. However, in cases of severe jaw misalignment, deep-seated root rotation or large gaps, fixed braces offer physical superiority and precision, which often leads to a more stable end result.

With fixed braces, regular visits are necessary approximately every 4 to 6 weeks. During these visits, progress is checked and the archwire is changed or reactivated in order to continuously guide the teeth into the target position.

The brackets themselves protect the teeth. Discolouration or decalcification can only occur if dental care around the brackets is neglected. With our prophylaxis concepts and your regular cleaning, your tooth enamel remains healthy and protected under the braces.
