Frequently asked questions about lip injections
Hyaluronic acid is broken down by the body individually. As the lips move a lot, the effect usually lasts slightly less time there than in other areas of the face. As a rule, you can expect it to last between 6 and 12 months. Many patients opt for a small touch-up after around 9 months.
At The Eram Clinic, that is our ultimate goal: No. We work according to the ‘step-by-step’ principle. Especially during the first treatment, we carefully feel our way towards the desired volume. A natural lip always has a structure and small wrinkles – we take care to preserve this identity.
Yes, most patients are immediately socially presentable again. However, the lip may swell a little more on the first evening. We therefore recommend that you do not schedule important appointments or events on the day of treatment.
That is the great advantage of hyaluronic acid: it is reversible. Using a special enzyme called hyaluronidase (Hylase), the filler can be dissolved again within a very short time. This gives you additional security, even though this situation is extremely rare in our practice due to the detailed preliminary consultation.
We recommend that you refrain from smoking for at least 4 to 6 hours so as not to contaminate the puncture sites. You should only use lipstick or gloss again the following day, once the channels are completely closed.
